Fluorite, Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith Co, Tennessee, USA

$0.00
Sold Out

Size:8.1x7.2x5.5 cm

Species: Fluorite

Locality: Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith Co, Tennessee, USA

Description: A fantastic purple fluorite cube sits isolated at the top of a bed of metallic sphalerite accented by white balls of baryte. The raspberry color of this specimen shows it is not from recent production in the last few years. The material being contemporarily produced tends to be pale, but even that material has ceased coming out since the mine recently shut due to a depression in zinc prices. Ex. Marty Houhoulis Collection
