Description: Much of the gold produced at modern mines does not occur as a quality mineral specimen. Much contemporary gold is finely distributed grains or even non-visible particulates such as in the Carlin type deposits in Nevada. This 6 gram specimen of finely crystallized gold is what a serious collector wants for their collection. Bright color with intricate fine crystals and stunning metallic luster. The 16:1 mine is world famous for its fine gold specimens and has been in nearly continuous operations since 1896.
