Description: The Medina pegmatite field is world famous for the wonderful gem quality aquamarines it has produced over the years. This particular example displays an unusual habit from the locality. Almost all of the beryl specimens from this locality exhibit some degree of etching. This specimen however flaunts a crisp termination and sharply defined lines. There is minor surficial evidence of some slight etching beginning to develop on some of the faces but this crystal is remarkably complete from this locality. The aquamarine is translucent with minor inclusions of gas or fluids. The color is a lovely pastel blue. A nice collector quality aquamarine from a famous Brazilian locality.
