Baryte, Quartz, Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada, USA

$250.00

Size: 4.7x4.5x3.7 cm

Species: Baryte, Quartz

Locality: Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada, USA

Description: A unique example of the “Sugar Bowl Pocket” at the Murray Mine. Two well terminated barytes coated in quartz form a nice heart shaped cluster. There are some contacts on the backside and a few dings on the bottom half, but the upper portion is in great condition. This material was nicknamed the “sugar bowl” due to the druzy quartz coating the blocky baryte crystals. This specimen is from the personal collection of Casey Jones who held the commercial specimen collecting contract for the Murray Mine when this find was made. Ex: Casey Jones
