Baryte, Quartz, Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada, USA

$950.00

Size: 11.0x7.3x5.2 cm

Species: Baryte, Quartz

Locality: Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada, USA

Description: A large example of the “Sugar Bowl Pocket” at the Murray Mine. There is crystallization all over the specimen and some later generation barytes that have grown atop the quartz. There is one point of damage on the face of the specimen but otherwise in great condition besides some contact on the backside. This material was nicknamed the “sugar bowl” due to the druzy quartz coating the blocky baryte crystals. This specimen is from the personal collection of Casey Jones who held the commercial specimen collecting contract for the Murray Mine when this find was made. Ex: Casey Jones
