Description: This smithsonite from Tsumeb has vibrant yellow coloration, with bright luster all around. There is mineralization on the backside, with smaller white smithsonite crystals coating the concave reverse of the specimen. This miniature is in great condition with saturated color and sharp edges. This color is historically attributed to cadmium however recent publications show that the coloration could also be caused by iron oxides.
