$2,500.00

Size: 5x1.5x1.5 cm

Species: Calcite, Butterfly Twin Pocket

Locality: Malmberget, Gallivare, Norrbotten County, Sweden

Description: Here we have a stunning golden calcite specimen from the Butterfly Twin Pocket collected in the late 1980s at the Malmberget Mine in Sweden. It is important to remember that the Malmberget Mine is one of the largest iron mines in the world and still actively operating. The area these specimens were collected in has been inaccessible for more than 30 years.

This specimen is iconic of the deeply saturated honey orange colored crystals that make this locality so desirable among mineral collectors. This single crystal has only two small dings that are hardly noticeable. The sides alternate between an etched matte surface, and lustrous faces that allows the observer to peer inside the gemmy interior. Great quality, and glows under any lighting.
