Calcite, Chalcopyrite, Sweetwater Mine, Reynolds County, Missouri, USA
Size: 8.8x5.5x2.9 cm
Species: Calcite, Chalcopyrite
Locality: Sweetwater Mine, Reynolds County, Missouri, USA
Description: An aesthetic double terminated calcite on chalcopyrite with minor dolomite. The calcite is lustrous, gemmy, and a saturated yellow color. There is slight iridescence to the chalcopyrite and crystallization rolls over onto the backside of the specimen. There is a second small calcite crystal poking out from underneath the larger one. I note two slight dings to the edges of the terminations that I feel do not detract at all from this excellent example from a classic US calcite locality. Ex. Mel Bersch
