Cobaltite, Hakansboda, Lindesberg, Orebro County, Sweden
Size: 4.5x3x3 cm
Species: Cobaltite
Locality: Hakansboda, Lindesberg, Orebro County, Sweden
Description: Two relatively large (1.7 and 1.5cm) cobaltite crystals with metallic luster sit perched at the apex of this specimen. This is an extremely old specimen. The mine operated as early as the 1400’s sporadically through the the 1870’s, with the major mining period happening from 1700-1873. Additionally there was a brief attempt at minor mining operations during WW1. These specimens are becoming almost impossible to find. There is a fit repair that I made prepping the specimen. Ex. Anders Lyckberg
