Cobaltite, Håkansboda, Lindesberg, Örebro County, Sweden

$1,000.00

Size: 3.6x3.1x3.0 cm

Mineral: Cobaltite on Sulfide Matrix

Locality: Håkansboda, Lindesberg, Örebro County, Sweden

Description: Euhedral cobaltite with bright metallic luster. The mine operated as early as the 1400’s sporadically through the the 1870’s, with the major mining period happening from 1700-1873. Additionally, there was a brief attempt at minor mining operations during WW1. These specimens are becoming almost impossible to find and this is a great example. The cobaltite crystal measures 3.6 cm across at its widest, which is quite a respectable size for the locality! A great addition to any collection. (Ex. Anders Lyckberg)
