Description: A very aesthetic example of these classic malachite coated cuprite’s from the Onganja Mine. This particular specimen features two sharp intergrown cuprite crystals coated in green malachite sitting nicely on a white calcite matrix. What is particularly nice about this specimen is that the edges of the cuprite crystal are still distinctly sharp beneath the malachite coating. The backside has some minor damage where the malachite coating is incomplete exposing red cuprite. An African classic!
