Fluorite, Annabel Lee Mine, Harris Creek, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
Size: 4x3.5x2.5 cm
Species: Fluorite
Locality: Annabel Lee Mine, Harris Creek, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
Description: Here is a neat Illinois fluorite miniature with a lot of character. The fluorite crystals are primarily yellow with a sharp zone of purple on the exterior. The main cubes are glassy with their bases showing baryte ball dissolution impressions giving the crystals what is often nicknamed the toadstool habit. I also note some small calcite crystals. An American classic!
