Fluorite, Gelbe Birke Mine, Beierfeld, Grunhain-Beierfeld, Saxony, Germany

$400.00

Size: 4.5x4x3 cm

Species: Fluorite

Locality: Gelbe Birke Mine, Beierfeld, Grunhain-Beierfeld, Saxony, Germany

Description: Here is a very unique locality specimen. I had never seen a piece from this mine until I purchased this piece along with 5 other specimens from a small collection in Germany. The specimen is quite attractive with translucent green octahedrons covered by a highly modified second generation of purple fluorite. Like many fluorite localities in this area the mine was a former silver producer in the 18th century.
