Description: The Hastie’s quarry is a currently operating aggregate quarry in Hardin County Illinois. These fabulous fluorites are found as a by product of the open pit operating in a vicinity of a previous fluorite mine. The majority of the specimens are in rough condition due to blasting from the open pit mine. This particular specimen is in good shape from this locality. It has a very nice large zoned cube measuring 4.4cm on edge. The specimen has excellent yellow fluorescence from trapped hydrocarbon inclusions under long wave UV light.
