Locality: Minerva No. 1 Mine, Cave-In-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA

Description: A nice pastel “toadstool” fluorite from Illinois. These form when the fluorite grows overtop a ball of baryte that is later eaten away by corrosive fluids in situ to leave a fluorite negative impression in the fluorite. There are even some small white barytes that you can see included inside of the fluorite at the boundary between the yellow and blue color zonation. Sealed
