Description: Excellent doubly terminated “barbell” sceptered quartz with a black internal first growth generation that is included with anthraxolite (pyrobitumen). The dark inner zone provides an attractive contrast to the water-clear second generation of “Herkimer Diamond” quartz scepters.

Herkimer diamonds are high quality doubly terminated quartz crystals which come from the area around Herkimer county in New York. These quartz crystals are famous worldwide, sought after by collectors for their extreme clarity and sharp crystalline form. There are a variety of localities within Herkimer county where Herkimer diamonds can be found. These particular specimens come from the Treasure Mountain Diamond Mine, which is a less common locality that is unique due to its fine sceptered specimens with black anthraxolite inclusions.
