Malachite Pseudomorph after Azurite with Brochantite or Antlerite?, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Santa Cruz Municipality, Sonora, Mexico

$0.00
Sold Out

Size: 3.9x3.2x2.2cm

Species: Malachite Pseudomorph after Azurite

Locality: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Santa Cruz Municipality, Sonora, Mexico

Description: At first glance of this specimen and from the origional labels I simply assumed this was malachite after azurite. However something just seems off about the texture. Upon further inspection with a 10x loupe the specimen shows a growth of a bright green acicular mineral over the duller darker malachite. This is most likely brochantite however it could be the related but less common species antlerite which is known to occur at Milpillas. I will try to have it analyzed it I have time.
