Description: A tapered, chatoyant malachite stalactite with intact tip. Dark green and in pristine condition, beyond being obviously contacted on one end. There is some type of pitted texture on one side of the piece. Near the termination I note a small spot with a change in the luster that could be some rubbing to the surface, it is very slight and does not detract from the overall aesthetic. The Shilu Mine is world renowned as producing some of the best botryoidal malachite specimens to recently come to the market. These stalactites are formed within oxidized supergene zones and are the result of copper rich groundwater repetitively precipitating to create these elongate structures. The solution hole where saturated water percolates through runs like a tube down the entire interior of the specimen.
