Malachite, Stalactite, Shilu Mine, Yangchun Co., Yangjiang, Guangdong, China

$800.00

Size: 7.6x2.4x1.8 cm

Species: Malachite, Stalactite

Locality: Shilu Mine, Yangchun Co., Yangjiang, Guangdong, China

Description: A flawless, chatoyant malachite stalactite with intact tip. This piece has a curve to it, and some bulging texture down its full length. Dark green and in pristine condition, beyond being obviously contacted on one end. The Shilu Mine is world renowned as producing some of the best botryoidal malachite specimens to recently come to the market. These stalactites are formed within oxidized supergene zones and are the result of copper rich groundwater repetitively precipitating to create these elongate structures. The solution hole where saturated water percolates through runs like a tube down the entire interior of the specimen.
