Description: A beautiful sharp undamaged pink manganoan smithsonite from Tsumeb. The luster is top notch and the piece is in fantastic condition with 360 degree crystallization even on the bottom. One side is more pink than the other which has dark grey included sulfides. An interesting effect probably due to fluid flow while the smithsonite crystals formed. These particular manganoan smithsonites were mined 1984-1985 and are much harder to find than the cobaltoan variety. A fantastic specimen if you collect contemporary classics. Ex: John Magnasco
