Locality: Ohio Claim, Ouray County, Colorado, USA

Description: A large epimorph of quartz coating calcite from the Idarado Mine in Ouray. These are quite a bit less common than the more often seen crystal cave locality that has produced specimens more contemporarily by hobby collectors. The Idarado mine was a former lead copper zinc mine that closed in the late 1970’s.
