Description: A fantastic plate of vibrant red rhodochrosite rhombohedrons on a bed of white and black matrix composed of quartz and tetrahedrite. The rhodochrosite crystals are in great condition and I note only a few minor broken quartz crystals. The Sweet Home Mine has been shut since 2004 and specimens from this mine have gained a very large popularity in the mineral collecting community. A contemporary American classic.
