Description: This recent find from the Aricanga Mine quickly gained notoriety for its deeply saturated and striking combination of red and green tones. The crystal has a intensely vibrant red rubellite core displays exceptional color when lit properly in a display case. A delicate yellow transition zone shifts to a vibrant glassy green termination.
The specimen presents beautifully with strong aesthetic features. It ticks the classic list of features that experienced collectors search for in a mineral specimen: intense color, good luster, a dominant and well-isolated crystal that is on matrix, good composition, contrasting colored matrix… there is not much more you could wish for. This is an superb example from this contemporary find, ideal for the discerning tourmaline or gem collector. There is a contact on the lower left side where another crystal grew up against this tourmaline, some collectors call these impressions “keys”. Please note that there are two professional repairs which is common with matrix tourmaline specimens. Comes with a custom base.
