Tourmaline, Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan

$20,000.00

Size: 11.9x5.9x4.5 cm

Weight: 404 Grams

Species: Tourmaline

Locality: Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan

Description: A robust multicolor tourmaline that ranges from magnificent shades of pink to green. Yellow comes out when light is behind the specimen and is a result of mixing the pink and green colors. The parallel tourmaline crystals spray into complex terminations that resemble a city scape. The luster is very good for this locality. This is classic quality that came out of Paprok decades ago and has not been available recently. I note some very minor damage but for a specimen of this size with no restorations that is not surprising to experienced collectors. Comes with a custom sunnywood acrylic base.
